What is the Virtual European Exchange Programme (VEEP)?
VEEP is the virtual — i.e. online — exchange programme of the EUPeace University Alliance. As a student at an EUPeace university, VEEP offers you a unique opportunity to complete online courses at other EUPeace partner universities. Through VEEP, you’ll be able to virtually meet and work closely with teachers and peers from across Europe, encounter different cultures and perspectives, and study in different languages.
What is the European Track? And how is it connected to the VEEP?
The European Track (EUTrack) is a certificate for students in our Alliance that you can obtain by completing in person and virtual courses at the EUPeace partner universities. All virtual European Track courses are offered via VEEP.
So if you want to take part in a virtual course at an EUPeace partner institution in order to follow the European Track, please follow the VEEP procedure set out on this page. VEEP serves, in effect, as the virtual component of the European Track.
For further information on the European Track, please check out our designated European Track website! Here, you’ll also find specific links to the different university webpages for the European Track.
What do I get from taking part, and how much does it cost?
After taking your course (or courses), you’ll receive a transcript of records with grades and ECTS points. Generally, these points can also count towards your European Track points totals and certificates (see above). Recognition for your studies back at your home university needs to be clarified with your home university in advance of signing up for a VEEP course (for more details, please see our fact sheets below).
The great news is that if you’re a student at one of the nine EUPeace partner universities, VEEP is entirely free of charge for you! You’re exempt from any kind of tuition fee at the host university.
And what about after my virtual mobility?
If you’ve enjoyed your experience, we’d love to hear about it!
You’re very welcome to sign up for more virtual courses in future semesters. And if your virtual experience has piqued your curiosity and whetted your appetite for more, then why not think about an in-person mobility at one of our EUPeace partner universities, funded by the Erasmus+ programme? You can find out more about all the mobility options open to EUPeace students via the EUPeace Mobility Portal.
EUPeace Course Repository
In the EUPeace Course Repository you’ll find an overview of all virtual and hybrid courses offered within the framework of our virtual exchange programme. For information on how to sign up for and take these courses, please check the table and information below.

Testimonials

My favorite memory from the virtual exchange was the chance to meet inspiring and friendly people from different countries. It reminded me so much of my Erasmus days – the excitement of learning about other cultures, sharing experiences, and connecting with open-minded people. Even though it was online, it truly brought back that unique international atmosphere and made me feel part of a diverse community once again.
Three reasons why others should also do a virtual exchange:
- You get to meet people from different countries and make new international friendships.
- It’s a great way to practice and improve your language skills, like English or German.
- You can experience the Erasmus vibe again – from the comfort of your home!

Why did you choose to take a virtual course at a partner university?
I wanted to improve my English while broadening my horizons by taking a course unrelated to my degree at my home university.
Three reasons why other students should also do a virtual exchange?
1) Get to know a new university with different structures and teaching methods.
2) Improve language skills in English or another European language.
3) Experience multinational exchange with students and lecturers.
What surprised you about your host country or university?
How well or poorly the Spanish Navy dealt with accidents.
Something interesting that you learned about the host country or institution?
How crucial effective crisis communication is in avoiding further damage to your company or organization.

“Within the scope of the EUPeace programme, I participated online (virtually) in courses offered by Justus Liebig University Giessen and successfully completed them. This experience gave me the opportunity to take part in an international academic environment without physical mobility.
Engaging with academics and students from different countries contributed to the development of my intercultural communication skills and allowed me to gain exposure to diverse academic perspectives. The teaching methods used in the courses enhanced my critical thinking, analytical skills, and active participation in academic discussions.
Furthermore, learning in an online environment strengthened my abilities in time management, self-discipline, and the effective use of digital learning tools. Overall, this experience made a valuable contribution to my academic development and provided a meaningful international higher education experience.”
