EUPeace at the Conference of Rectors of Spanish Universities (CRUE)’s meeting on Internationalization and Cooperation

On May 6th and 7th, the CRUE held its XXI Conference on Internationalization and Cooperation, with the EUPeace alliance in attendance

Colleagues from EUPeace and the International Relations Office of Comillas University had the opportunity to participate on May 6th and 7th in the XXI CRUE Conference on Internationalization and Cooperation held at the Cidade da Cultura de Galicia, in Santiago de Compostela.

In this context, where special emphasis was placed on European alliances following the European Commission's communication on a Blueprint for a European Degree, a meeting of Spanish universities in European Alliances was held. During this meeting, the main challenges and next steps of European Universities at both European and national levels were discussed, and proposals were made for organising the work of this network in the future. The presence of Comillas University in the EUPeace alliance consolidates its position at the forefront of innovation and strategic transformation within the European higher education space, while also positioning it as leader in international cooperation in Europe. Therefore, participation in this network is crucial for EUPeace Comillas, as it provides a necessary framework to cooperate and share both challenges and best practices among the more than 40 Spanish universities involved in alliances.

Throughout the conference, speakers addressed various topics related to the European alliances as drivers of university cooperation, a topic that was particularly highlighted by the Deputy Head of the European Higher Education Unit of the European Commission, María Luisa García Mínguez, during one of the sessions. In addition, other topics such as microcredentials, the integration of foreign students into Spanish universities, joint degrees, inclusive mobility, and the internationalisation of Spanish universities were discussed.
