02.07.2025 Key insights from the 6th EUPeace Research Seminar by the Research Hub Migration and Human Rights

On 13 June 2025, the EUPeace Research Hub Migration and Human Rights held its sixth research seminar, with contributions from researchers at the University of West Bohemia (UWB) in Pilsen. The seminar offered an opportunity for students to learn about ongoing research and for Research Hub members to get to know the work of their Research Hub colleagues.
Three presentations gave insight into UWB’s work on the following topics:
- From Policy to Practice: Understanding and Supporting Migrant Integration and Maternal Health: Alena Pařízková focused on migrant women’s access to maternal healthcare in Europe, highlighting differences in inclusiveness and the importance of housing, healthcare, and social context beyond labour market policies.
- Migration and Integration Policies in the EU: A Multi-Level Governance Perspective from European to Local: Helena Bauerová and Nataliya-Mariya Mochernak analysed migration and integration policies at EU, national, regional, and local levels, focusing on the Czech Republic’s response to Ukrainian refugees and the role of local authorities and NGOs.
- UWB's Migration Research in the Context of the European Research Framework Directionality: Lenka Strnadová presented UWB’s efforts to expand international research through European programmes and better align with EU research priorities.
The seminar provided valuable insights into current research projects at the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen, highlighting the diverse challenges and approaches in migration and human rights. The event concluded with a lively Q&A session, fostering engaging discussions and ideas for future collaboration
