27.08.2025 Social Mediation and Inclusive Justice – Bridging Grassroots Knowledge and Academic Perspectives

How can experiential knowledge from social mediation enrich European academic, civic, and institutional approaches to justice, inclusion, and peacebuilding?
Join this Creative Space to explore the potential of social mediation as a tool for inclusive justice, drawing on field practices from priority neighborhoods in Limoges and the international experience of the Tour of Europe of Social Mediators (ArleKin and ArleKin Pro).
You can take part in an interactive, participatory session where you will be able to discuss with mediators, researchers, students and local institutions. You will have the opportunity to engage in storytelling and collaborative mapping exercises designed to identify transferable tools and practices across cities and universities in Europe.
Key themes:
🌱 Recognition of grassroots knowledge and informal learning
🤝 Intercultural and intercommunity mediation practices
🏛️ Cross-sector cooperation for social inclusion
🌍 Mobility and lifelong learning in social professions
🌐 Building a network through transnational partnerships
The workshop is facilitated by:
- Hamid Ghobrini (European Mediation Referent – City of Limoges), who will share insights from a decade of European cooperation and training programs in social mediation;
- Alice Brites Osorio (University of Limoges), who will situate the discussion within the EUPeace framework, particularly the research hubs on migration, human rights, and security.
This Creative Space will also be a stepping stone toward the design of a European Mobile Social Mediation Network, combining field immersion, mobility, and shared training.
