On 14 April, Fulvio Attinà, Emeritus Professor of Political Science and International Relations at the University of Catania, will deliver the keynote lecture of the upcoming EUPeace Spring Meetings 2026 at the University of Calabria in Cosenza. The lecture will take place from 17:30 to 18:30 in the Aula Magna of the University of Calabria. Dedicated to global political transformations and the international order, it represents an important opportunity to reflect on contemporary international dynamics and academic research. The session will be open to a broad audience, extending beyond participants in the EUPeace event.
The Global Political System and International Order
In his keynote, Fulvio Attinà will address the evolution of the global political system, focusing on key issues such as international conflict, foreign policy, and the changing structure of world order. Drawing on decades of research, he will explore the role of international institutions, regional security systems, and multilateral cooperation in managing global crises.
Particular attention will be given to recent transformations, including migration crises and the European Union’s capacity to respond to transnational challenges, as well as the broader transition of the global political order.
A distinguished academic career
Fulvio Attinà has held prominent positions within the academic community, including the Jean Monnet Chair Ad Personam and Director of the Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence “EuroMed.” He has contributed extensively to international research networks and has taught at numerous universities worldwide, including institutions in the United States, Asia, and Europe.
His scholarly work addresses topics such as peacekeeping, global governance, and international public policy. Among his major publications is The Global Political System (Palgrave, 2011), along with several edited volumes on the transformation of world order and global politics.
