From 21 September to 21 December, I carried out an academic mobility at Universidad Pontificia Comillas in Madrid within the framework of the EUPeace Mobility Grant programme.
The mobility was dedicated to the development of activities focused on the seismic isolation of hospital structures, with particular attention to environmental sustainability aspects.

A closer look at his three months at Universidad Pontificia Comillas:
Research Focus:
The activity focused on the seismic response analysis of hospital buildings and on the quantification of environmental losses, expressed in terms of CO₂ emissions, considered both as a consequence of structural damage and of the damage and failure of medical equipment in the event of an earthquake. The main objective was to assess how the adoption of seismic isolation systems can contribute not only to improving the safety and operational continuity of healthcare facilities, but also to reducing the environmental impact associated with seismic events.
Collaboration & Interdisciplinary Exchange:
During the mobility period, interaction with professors and researchers from the host university enabled the development of interdisciplinary methodological approaches and strengthened the dialogue between seismic engineering and sustainability, in line with the values and objectives of the EUPeace Alliance.
