Marburg University’s MACIES hosts Seminar on Climate Change Resilience through Health Systems

The Marburg Centre for Institutional Economics and Sustainability (MACIES) will host a research talk by Christoph Strupat on "Climate Change Resilience through Health Systems: The Role of Access to Quality Health Care in Protecting Children from Adverse Health Impacts in Sub-Saharan Africa" on 21 May 2026 at Marburg University.

The Marburg Centre for Institutional Economics and Sustainability (MACIES) will host a seminar on 21 May 2026 at Marburg University.

In his research talk, Christoph Strupat (German Institute of Development and Sustainability, IDOS) will present his study on “Climate Change Resilience through Health Systems: The Role of Access to Quality Health Care in Protecting Children from Adverse Health Impacts in Sub-Saharan Africa“.

The research examines whether physical access to health care can reduce the negative effects of climate-related stress during pregnancy on child undernutrition in sub-Saharan Africa.

Speaker

Christoph Strupat is Project Lead & Senior Researcher at the Research Department “Transformation of Economic and Social Systems” at IDOS. He is the head of the Committee “Development Cooperation” at the German Health Economics Association and among other areas, specialised in Global Health and Health Economics with a regional expertise on Africa, East Asia, and South Asia.
