EUPeace EduTandems: Call for Teaching Staff to Learn Online Teaching from Peers Abroad

Teaching staff and teaching doctoral candidates at all EUPeace partner universities can now apply for EduTandems, a job shadowing programme on online and hybrid teaching. Expressions of interest are accepted until 20 November 2026.

EUPeace has opened a call for participation in EduTandems, a programme that pairs teaching staff from different partner universities so they can shadow each other at work and exchange know-how on online teaching. Matched participants visit their tandem partner’s university from February 2027 onwards, and the physical mobilities are fully funded through the Erasmus+ programme. Applications are open until 20 November 2026, 23:59 CET.

What EduTandems offers

The programme combines online and on-site elements. A virtual briefing in January 2027 prepares the tandem partners for their exchange and helps them define shared and individual goals. Each tandem is then encouraged to carry out two visits, one per partner, within a flexible timeframe. A virtual debriefing in summer 2027 brings the whole cohort back together to share experiences and discuss how to pass on what they have learned.

Who can take part

The call is open to teaching staff at all nine EUPeace partner universities, as well as doctoral candidates who teach and are employed by their university. It is aimed at those who want to develop their skills in online teaching, at newcomers to online or hybrid formats who would like to learn through peer-to-peer mentoring, and at anyone interested in building their network and future collaborations within the Alliance. Research activities are not eligible under the Erasmus+ framework, and each university’s own mobility criteria may apply.

Why it matters

EduTandems is part of the Teaching Staff Academy, the Alliance’s platform for innovative teaching. The exchanges are meant to lead to more than a single visit: after their mobility, participants can propose a follow-up collaboration such as a joint teaching unit, suggest ways to extend EduTandems or online teaching across EUPeace, or share a testimonial on the Mobility Portal.

How to apply

Submit an expression of interest of around 300 words via the CollaBridge form, outlining your motivation and overall objectives, the outcomes you expect for yourself and your institution, and the thematic areas you would like to work on. The EduTandems task force evaluates all applications and matches tandems by thematic area in December 2026. Selected participants then apply for Erasmus+ funding at their home institution, with support from the task force. The deadline is 20 November 2026.

All details and the application form are available in the call for participation.
