On the occasion of the European Researchers’ Night 2025 at the University of Calabria, the team of Work Package 7 – Societal Dialogue from the European project EUPeace organised the workshop “How Do You Make Peace?”.
The EUPeace project aims to strengthen fair and inclusive access to higher education by promoting educational innovation and opportunities for dialogue with society. Within this framework, the WP7 team works to create spaces for discussion with students, schools, and local communities on socially relevant topics such as peace, inclusion, and sustainability.
Creative Tools for Education, Inclusion, and Dialogue
The activity proposed during the Researchers’ Night invited children and young people to experience the simulation of a social research project through creative and collaborative methods. Drawings, words, and gestures became tools for reflecting together on the meaning of “making peace” and on how each person lives it in everyday life.
To our great surprise, not only the youngest took part with enthusiasm: high school students also stopped at the EUPeace stand, curious to learn more about the European project, leaving a personal thought on peace and contributing to the debate. In addition, many parents and teachers visited the space, taking the opportunity to discover more about EUPeace and its activities in the region.
Building a Culture of Peace
The initiative represented an important moment of intergenerational dialogue and awareness-raising, confirming the project’s commitment to engaging educational communities and civil society in the shared construction of a culture of peace and active European citizenship.
