In the second half of 2025, EUPeace conducted a comprehensive mid-term assessment to evaluate the Alliance’s development, performance and overall impact. The review analysed operations, communication, participation and governance across all partner universities, providing a structured overview of progress and areas for further development.
A Comprehensive Multi-Level Evaluation
The assessment combined qualitative and quantitative data collected from all partner institutions. It examined strategic, operational and administrative dimensions of the project and followed a structured multi-step approach. This included analysis of leadership and coordination mechanisms, surveys among students and staff, evaluation of teaching activities, and systematic monitoring of the Alliance’s impact.
The results confirm that EUPeace is progressing in line with its strategic objectives. At the same time, the evaluation identified concrete achievements, challenges and areas where structures and processes can be further strengthened.
Eight Priority Fields for the Next Phase
Based on the findings, eight priority fields of action were defined to guide the second phase of the Alliance’s development:
- Institutional Participation
- Awareness of Alliance Objectives
- Administrative and Financial Aspects
- Internal Communication and Coordination
- Student and Non-Academic Staff Involvement
- Cross-Disciplinary Collaboration
- Monitoring and Feedback Loops
- Institutional Ownership and Sustainability
For each field, the assessment outlines concrete recommendations as well as the responsible work packages and bodies. This structured follow-up ensures that identified challenges are translated into actionable measures and that implementation responsibilities are clearly assigned.

The full assessment document, including the priority areas and recommended measures, was reviewed and formally approved by the Governing Board on 17 February 2026. The endorsed actions now serve as guidance for the second phase of the EU-funded project and for the continued institutional consolidation of EUPeace.
By linking evaluation results directly to governance decisions and implementation structures, the Alliance aims to strengthen its impact, improve coordination, and ensure the long-term sustainability of its initiatives across all partner universities.
