In 2026, EUPeace will consolidate and scale its core activities across education, research, outreach, and Alliance development, building on the foundations of its EU-funded project. The year will be characterised by strengthened structures, expanded joint formats, and deeper integration of EUPeace activities into everyday university life.
In Education, the teams working on Transforming Curricula and the Internationalisation of Teacher Education build on their pilots for structural growth. Joint Master’s programmes will advance toward implementation, while the European Track and the Virtual European Exchange Programme (VEEP) will be scaled up. The Teaching Staff Academy (TSA) will strengthen its multiplier role through conferences, training weeks, and staff exchanges. Teacher education activities will expand physical and virtual
mobility, summer schools, Blended Intensive Programmes (BIPs), and internships, while advancing the inclusive School for All concept and the Handbook on Internationalising Teacher Education.
In Research, EUPeace will consolidate cooperation within the Research Hubs and the Doctoral Network. A 5th Research Hub and the Academic Mentoring Network will connect researchers, doctoral candidates, and Master’s students, reinforcing research-based teaching. Doctoral mobilities, training weeks, conferences, Creative Spaces, and the Crisis Conversations series will support joint topics and innovative training formats.
In Outreach, Societal Dialogue activities will enter a consolidation and scaling phase. The Living Peace Lab will expand co-creative teams and Alliance-level projects, while Societal Dialogue Groups and soft-skills micro-credential courses will be embedded as structured elements of curricula and community engagement.
As an Alliance, 2026 will be a key year for governance, mobility, campus life, and visibility. An Alliance-wide Mobility Strategy will be finalised, progress will be made toward the completion of our Joint (Digital) Campus and multilateral agreements. Student engagement will also be strengthened through expanded student-led activities, and progress on the Student ID. Visibility will increase
through stronger science communication and regular formats such as podcasts and dialogue series. Beyond the EU-funded project, the EUPeace Fund will continue to support innovation through ongoing projects and a 5th call, alongside expanded collaborations and policy engagement at European level.
2026 will thus mark a year of consolidation and strategic positioning, strengthening EUPeace’s role as a visible and impactful European University Alliance. An overview of our events in 2026 can be accessed here.
