Erasmus+ Mobility for Teaching offers opportunities for higher education teaching staff to spend time teaching at partner alliance institutions. Each stay must include a minimum of 8 hours of teaching per week or the entire duration if shorter, and it can take place in any field or academic discipline.
Please note that participating in conferences is not permitted during a teaching placement. Alternatively, you can apply for Erasmus+ Mobility for Training, which offers different opportunities for professional development abroad.
As an Alliance, we’re committed to facilitating and supporting teaching staff mobilities between all our nine partner universities.
Our aim over the coming year is to develop and grow into a fully fledged European University for Peace, Justice and Inclusive Societies. And as the backbone of our institutions, it’s you, our teachers and lecturers, who’ll be central to making that ambition a reality.
For university teachers in particular, the Alliance has established its own Teaching Staff Academy: our platform for fostering innovative and inclusive pedagogies and incorporating them into our Alliance-wide curricula. We’re particularly interested in supporting teaching staff exchanges that help to enrich and expand our core educational offers. These include our bespoke European Track (EUTrack) certificate, our Virtual European Exchange Programme (VEEP), as well as our joint Master’s programmes; and they also encompass our Teacher Education Programme.
Within the frame of EUPeace, teaching staff mobilities might facilitate (among very many others) the following kinds of curricular activities and discussions:
- Teaching or co-teaching a course – whether in person, virtually or in hybrid form – that could be offered for the European Track, for VEEP, or for Teacher Education.
- Teaching at a partner university with which you are planning to cooperate in developing a joint programme.
Not only do teaching mobilities enable the development and delivery of educational offers across EUPeace’s borders. They also provide an excellent framework within which you can network – in person – with collaborators on joint courses, joint programmes, and other curricular plans.
Matchmaking
We’ve created an initial Alliance-wide matchmaking tool with a view to matching up those lecturers who might be interested in engaging in a teaching staff exchange with departments or faculties interested in hosting them.
The idea is that teachers should complete the spreadsheet worksheet labelled “Expertise offer”, whereas departments and faculties interested in hosting mobilities should complete the worksheet labelled “Expertise request”. The more information you can provide, the easier it will be to matchmake.
Financial Support Erasmus+
The financial support consists of two parts—one to support travel costs and the other for accommodation. The means are calculated in the maximum expected amount. In case of exceeding, it might be necessary to secure additional funding at the relevant institute/workplace.
In the case of virtual mobility, there is no entitlement to financial support.
The European Commission’s distance calculator allows you to estimate your travel cost funding or you may check the table below for your exact distance.
| Travel Distance | Travel Cost support |

| 100-499 km | 180 EUR per participant |
