EnerPeace – Comillas Pontifical University

Summary

EnerPeace is a collaborative initiative addressing energy poverty, a pressing issue affecting millions of people globally and many households in Spain. Energy poverty refers to the inability to meet basic energy needs affordably and adequately, leading to poor health, social exclusion, and environmental challenges. As part of the EUPeace Living Peace Lab, the project proposes the creation of the Madrid LivingLab EnerPeace Forum, a multidisciplinary space where affected communities, energy experts, government institutions, and nonprofit organizations co-design and implement effective policies to combat energy poverty in Spain.

The forum promotes participatory innovation, bringing together diverse stakeholders to develop and test effective policies that improve energy access and affordability. By integrating research, civic engagement, and public collaboration, EnerPeace contributes to EUPeace’s broader mission of fostering peace and social cohesion through education and community action. The project aims to become a replicable model for tackling energy poverty across Europe.
