LAB.4U – University of Calabria

Summary

LAB.4U is an initiative developed within the University of Calabria to promote more equitable access to haematological screening through point-of-care testing (POCT) and self-sampling for individuals facing social, economic or cultural vulnerability.

The project aims to activate POCT – Point fo Care, which are health services provided locally, outside traditional laboratories, using remote analytical control systems that ensure reliability, rapid results and more direct access to care. It also includes training pathways for local operators and healthcare professionals, as well as the development of a multilingual digital platform designed to facilitate orientation and access to prevention services.

The initiative brings together academia, public and health institutions, healthcare professionals and civil society organisations, following a collaborative approach inspired by the EUPeace Quadruple Helix model, with the aim of strengthening prevention and inclusion.
Currently in its structuring phase, LAB.4U combines health education, skills empowerment and active community engagement. It is designed to become a sustainable and replicable model for inclusive healthcare, attentive to cultural diversity and responsive to real community needs, ranging from POCT services to awareness-raising activities on the right to health.

Project Results

Results will be published as soon as they have been reviewed, consolidated, and made available through the EUPeace network for the benefit of all participating communities.
