The second edition of the Teaching Europe Conference took place in Limoges on 9 and 10 December, marking the first time the event was held in person. The conference brought together 55 participants: educators, researchers, policy-makers, and community leaders united by a shared commitment: to reimagine education not merely as a system for transferring knowledge, but as a powerful tool for inclusion, justice, and democratic participation across Europe.
Learner-centred approaches for active citizenship
At a time when Europe faces pressing societal challenges—from social inequality and democratic backsliding to migration and climate change—the conference explored how innovative, learner-centred pedagogies can connect formal education with civic engagement. Participants shared experiences, research, and practices that prepare students not only for professional life but also for active citizenship.

The programme was thought to engage active participation from lecturers and students. Participants were invited to visit the UNILIM health simulation centre, and participate to a debate on inclusive mobility. A special time was dedicated to students, with in-person and online poster presentations.
Education as a driver of democratic participation
By fostering dialogue and collaboration, the event highlighted the transformative potential of education in promoting equity, inclusion, and participatory democracy across Europe, while positioning Limoges as a vibrant hub for this international exchange.
