EUPeace has published its Strategic Action Plan for an Inclusive, International Campus Space, together with a Joint Code of Conduct, as part of its ongoing work to strengthen inclusive practices across the Alliance’s nine partner universities. Published in April 2026, the framework provides a shared approach to creating inclusive and accessible campus environments that support EUPeace’s broader mission of fostering peace, justice and inclusive societies.
A shared framework for inclusive campuses
The Strategic Action Plan brings together existing initiatives and establishes a common understanding of what an inclusive international campus means in practice. Recognising the diversity of institutional and national contexts across the Alliance, it provides a shared foundation while supporting approaches that reflect local realities and contribute to building more peaceful, just and inclusive academic environments.
From principles to practice
The framework identifies four action areas: inclusive design of cross-border experiences; response and accountability mechanisms; skills and competences for inclusive societies; and institutional learning and mutual support. Together, these areas seek to improve participation, accessibility and support structures while strengthening the knowledge and competences needed to foster peace, justice and social inclusion across borders.

Supporting people across the Alliance
Alongside the Strategic Action Plan, the Joint Code of Conduct establishes shared expectations for members of the EUPeace community participating in Alliance activities. It outlines principles for respectful interaction and provides guidance on reporting and support pathways in cross-border contexts, helping to create environments where all members can participate safely and fully.
Through this work, EUPeace aims to strengthen the conditions that support participation, belonging and collaboration across the Alliance, while creating opportunities for institutions to learn from one another and advance shared approaches to peace, justice and social inclusion.
