Applications Open for the 26th ERMA Master’s Programme in Democracy and Human Rights

Applications are now open for the 26th edition of the European Regional Master’s Programme in Democracy and Human Rights in South East Europe (ERMA) for the 2026/27 academic year. Coordinated by the University of Sarajevo and the University of Bologna, the programme offers a double degree, international learning opportunities, and 25 scholarships for students from Southeast Europe, the EU, and Azerbaijan.

The Call for Applications for the 26th edition of the European Regional Master’s Programme in Democracy and Human Rights in South East Europe (ERMA), coordinated by the University of Sarajevo and University of Bologna, is now open.

About the Programme

ERMA is a one-year interdisciplinary Master’s programme coordinated by the University of Sarajevo and the University of Bologna. It offers a double degree and is part of the Global Campus of Human Rights network, bringing together over 100 universities worldwide dedicated to the advancement of human rights and democracy.

Scholarships

The programme is co-funded by the European Union and provides 25 scholarships for students from Southeast Europe, EU countries, and Azerbaijan.

Study Experience

Students benefit from international academic training in Sarajevo, hands-on experience through an internship, and a study period in Italy, gaining valuable regional and global perspectives on human rights and democracy.
