Invitation to the Research Seminar “Climate change, emerging conflicts and population movements”

The EUPeace Research Hub Climate Science and Just Transition warmly invites to its first Research Seminar on “Climate change, emerging conflicts and population movements”. The Research Seminar will take place virtually on Tuesday 18 February 2025, 3-5pm (CET). The Research Seminar will be moderated by Helmut Breitmeier and entail the following presentations by Research Hub Members:

  • Alfonso Senatore (UNICAL): Brief introduction to climate change evidence and impacts
  • Ernst Halbmayer (UMR): Local resilience strategies and human contributions to confront climate change based on empirical cases from Northern Mozambique, Northern Colombia and the Brazilian Amazon.
  • Mariarosaria Agostino (UNICAL): Impact of extreme weather events on firms’ innovation propensity: Eastern Europe, Mena region and southern Europe countries
  • Gilda Catalano (UNICAL): The Difficult Recognition of Climate Migrations and Climate Justice
  • Ehlimana Spahić (UNSA): The Importance of Integrating Sustainable Development Goals into Social Sciences Study Programs Case Study: University of Sarajevo – Faculty of Political Sciences
