Comillas Pontifical University hosted its first International Week, welcoming international relations coordinators from 25 universities across 14 countries. The event, taking place on 31 October, featured academic sessions, cultural activities, and networking opportunities aimed at strengthening global academic collaboration.
Antonio Allende SJ, Rector of Comillas, welcomed participants with an inspiring message: “This is not just another week, but the beginning of a new phase in which cooperation and international openness take center stage in our academic and human mission.” His words resonated strongly with the values of EUPeace, which aims to build a borderless educational space rooted in collaboration and mutual understanding.
A highlight of the week was the presentation of EUPeace, delivered by María Amalia Silva, Head of the International Relations Service, and Teresa Morales, Director of EUPeace at Comillas. The session drew strong interest and engagement from participants, who explored the alliance’s goals and ongoing initiatives.

One of the key activities was the university fair, where each institution showcased its academic offerings and international opportunities. Students had the chance to engage directly with representatives, ask questions, and explore potential destinations for mobility and collaboration.
The presence of EUPeace institutions contributed to dynamic discussions on mobility, joint projects, and the future of European cooperation in higher education. The week reinforced EUPeace’s mission to foster peace and mutual understanding through international education and collaboration.
The week concluded with a shared message: education knows no borders when built on collaboration, curiosity, and intercultural exchange. In this spirit, EUPeace stands out as a vital platform for advancing these values across the European academic landscape.
