From 10-13 December 2024, the WP2, led by the Justus Liebig University and co-led by the University of Limoges and Comillas Pontifical University, held the first edition of the Teaching Staff Academy. This online event combined two sub-events: the Training Week and the Teaching Europe Conference.
In line with the EUPeace mission statement, the objective of this first edition of the Teaching Staff Academy was to develop joint and innovative teaching and learning experiences, to identify innovative teaching practices in all the partner universities, and bring our entire academic communities together to generate knowledge, competence and innovative approaches to fostering peace, justice, and inclusive societies.
The Training Week was dedicated for teachers to share teaching experiences and best practices. Over the course of two days, 10 speakers addressed subjects such as:
- Qualification of teaching staff in higher education didactics
- Simulation of Negotiations in Conflict Resolution in a Multinational Classroom: Experience Report of an online role-play
- Deployment of skills-based approach in University Bachelor of Technology
- The Seminar Concept of ‘View: Transition and Inclusion’ – Benefits and Challenges
- ELT for Sustainable Development – HEI in Bosnia
- NBS Academy – A European Academy for integrating Nature-Based Solutions in teacher education-

The following two days, dedicated to the Teaching Europe Conference, which was open to everyone from across the Alliance, gathered 17 speakers and 90 participants from all the universities of the Alliance, including four participants from external universities. The speakers covered various topics:
- Innovating Cybersecurity Education through Hands-On Learning, Democratized Knowledge, and Safe Experimentation – Entertaining Antisemitism?
- Two minds, One Class: co-teaching for inclusive and diverse learning
- The Teaching and Research Profile MRK: Medienreflexionskompetenz
- Generative artificial intelligence and the teaching of STEM subjects in non-STEM program
- First EUPeace Workshop for Teacher Trainers: results, reflections and future editions
- Inclusive Education for Migrant and Refugee Children: Overcoming Barriers and Fostering Integration
- Fostering Democracy Education Through Classroom
- Management: Building Future Citizens in the Classroom
- Maths Team Contest (MTC): Collaborative problem-solving in mathematics education
- Disability Studies and the Bible

The next edition (2025) will be split into two on-site events: the Training Week will be held in Comillas Pontifical University from 8-10 July and the Teaching Europe Conference will take place at University of Limoges on 9-10 December 2025.
