The Humanitarian Evening of the SUM Foundation took place at the SUMIT Building on the Rodoč Campus of the University of Mostar. Organised by the Office for Students with Disabilities and the University of Mostar, the event brought together students, academic staff, university employees and members of the wider community to support initiatives that help ensure education remains accessible to all.
A Community Effort for Inclusive Education
The event highlighted the shared responsibility of creating opportunities for students and supporting those who face barriers in higher education. Participants included representatives from academia, business, public institutions and local communities, demonstrating broad support for educational inclusion and student wellbeing.
The gathering was also attended by participants of the 6th Erasmus+ Staff Week, an international event that brings together representatives of European higher education institutions to exchange experiences and strengthen cooperation. Addressing the audience, Rector assistant for International Relations Professor Sanja Bijakšić emphasised the importance of collaboration in building inclusive and supportive university environments.

Student Innovation Through EUPeace
During the evening programme, students Juraj Previšić and Ivan Galić presented Scan4Support, a project developed within the EUPeace Student Challenges initiative. The initiative aims to make existing support services at the University of Mostar more visible and accessible to students.
Using a network of QR codes placed across the campus, students can quickly access information, report concerns or request assistance either anonymously or by providing contact details. By combining digital tools with social responsibility, Scan4Support contributes to a more supportive campus environment and encourages a culture of understanding, care and inclusion.
Supporting Student Life and Wellbeing
The event was organised as a small-size event within Work Package 5 – Campus and Student Life of the EUPeace Alliance. It provided an opportunity to showcase practical actions that strengthen student wellbeing, improve access to support and foster a more inclusive university community.
