Sara Lopez from the University of Calabria completed a one-month mobility at Comillas Pontifical University

The recent mobility, carried out within the EUPeace Alliance, provided a fruitful opportunity to strengthen joint and innovative forms of academic cooperation while enhancing the quality and impact of the PhD project.
In particular, the purpose of the PhD project is to explore the potential psychological benefits of biophilic design, understood as the inclusion of natural elements (e.g. plants and materials like wood) within the learning environment, on primary school students and teachers.

The  mobility  enabled  collaboration  with  experienced  researchers,  expansion  of  academic networks  and  engagement  in  interdisciplinary  exchange.  It  also  offered  the  chance  to  develop  a teaching activity  and participate  in doctoral lessons and events organized by the Host University, fostering potential academic collaborations aimed at promoting long-term cooperation between the Home and Host Institutions of the EUPeace Alliance.

A closer look at her month at Universidad Pontificia Comillas:

Research & Academic Activities:

Key  activities  undertaken  throughout  the  mobility  included  an  in-depth  review  and systematization of the scientific literature on nature exposure among different age groups, critical discussions on the methodological framework of the PhD project and active participation in doctoral lessons offered by the Host University.

Teaching & Knowledge Dissemination:

The various outcomes of the mobility were synthesized in the development of a teaching activity, which served as a comprehensive summary of the overall experience. It included a presentation of the  EUPeace  framework,  an  overview  of  the  research  project  with  its  theoretical  background, objectives  and  methodology,  as  well  as  the  findings  of  the  systematization  work  about  scientific literature carried out during the EUPeace stay.

In conclusion, the mobility has represented a formative and enriching experience for academic growth, while also strengthening international collaboration within the EUPeace Alliance.
