EUPeace has contributed two good practices to the FOREU4ALL Good Practices Platform, a shared resource for European University Alliances documenting innovative approaches to internationalisation, mobility, and education. Among the first 45 good practices submitted by all Alliances, the two EUPeace contributions highlight key initiatives developed across the partnership: the European Track (EUTrack) and the internationalisation of teacher education through school internships.
“Having two good practices from EUPeace among the first 45 good practices of all alliances is a great acknowledgment of the high quality of work carried out at our nine universities,” says Alexandre Wipf, Secretary General of EUPeace. “It is also a way for us to share our reflections with the other higher education institutions and to contribute to a more inclusive education system beyond our own communities.”
The European Track: A Structured Framework for Cross-Border Learning
The European Track is an interdisciplinary certificate programme that enables students from all nine EUPeace partner universities to take courses in person, online, or in hybrid formats across the Alliance. Students can earn up to three certificate levels by accumulating credits through semester or year-long mobility, or through shorter Blended Intensive Programmes (BIPs). A central component is the Virtual European Exchange Programme (VEEP), which provides a structured pathway for online course participation and ensures that students’ learning is formally recognised at their home institution. The EUTrack was submitted under the topic of upscaling internationalisation and innovation in education.

Internationalising teacher education through European school internships
“Our offers are inherently interdisciplinary, which means that students learn to think outside the box, expand their horizons, and venture into unfamiliar territory,” explains Robert Craig, who leads the development of the European Track. “They’re also fundamentally intercultural. Our offers provide open and inclusive spaces for students to encounter different ways and styles of teaching and learning, and to meet and get to know both teachers and fellow students from right across the continent. That’s enormously enriching on a personal level, of course; but it also prepares them for a world that will only become more international — and more reliant on cooperation across borders and boundaries — in the coming years and decades. In short, our offers encapsulate perfectly what EUPeace is all about.”
Internationalising Teacher Education Through School Placements
The second good practice focuses on how EUPeace integrates internationalisation into teacher education through placements at primary and secondary schools across Europe. Future teachers gain hands-on experience in international classroom settings, developing intercultural competencies, multilingual awareness, and inclusive teaching approaches. By combining professional practice with mobility and intercultural learning, these internships support the development of Europe-oriented educators at an early stage of their careers. This practice was submitted under the topic of mobility within European University Alliances.
Sharing Practice Across the Alliance Community
The FOREU4ALL platform brings together good practices from European University Alliances to support cross-Alliance learning and mutual inspiration. By contributing to this shared resource, EUPeace makes its approaches accessible to a wider community of educators, policymakers, and Alliance partners working towards common goals in higher education innovation and internationalisation.
