Curricula of Values? Call Open for the Teaching Staff Academy Training Week 2027

How can teaching do more than talk about peace, justice and inclusion? From 15 to 19 March 2027, the EUPeace Teaching Staff Academy invites teaching staff from across the Alliance to Justus Liebig University Giessen to explore this question together. Applications are open until 07 December 2026.

What happens when peace, justice and inclusion become questions we teach with, and not merely topics we teach about? This is the guiding question of the EUPeace Teaching Staff Academy Training Week 2027, which will take place from 15 to 19 March 2027 at Justus Liebig University Giessen, Germany. The call for participation is now open to teaching staff from all disciplines and career stages at the nine EUPeace partner universities.

From principles to everyday teaching

The Training Week focuses on the choices that shape teaching in practice: the problems students are asked to solve, the perspectives brought into the classroom, the learning environments created and the ways achievement is assessed. Possible topics range from co-teaching and virtual exchange to the role of AI in ethical judgement, inclusive assessment, service learning and lifelong learning. The Training Week also asks what these values look like in places where they are rarely discussed, such as a mathematics classroom, an engineering design brief or a science laboratory.

Lead a workshop or join as a trainee

There are two ways to take part. Colleagues who would like to share a teaching practice, test a method or explore a classroom dilemma together can propose an interactive workshop of around 1.5 hours, alone or with up to two colleagues. Those who would like to learn from others, try out new approaches and build connections across the Alliance can join as trainees. Either way, participants will leave with ideas they can use in their own teaching and with colleagues to continue working with.

Blended format, funded through EUPeace and Erasmus+

The Training Week is an Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Programme. It combines an online preparatory session, five days of in-person workshops in Giessen and a short online debrief. Participation is funded either through EUPeace or Erasmus+ mobility at participants’ home institutions. As local funding deadlines may be earlier than the deadline of the call, applicants are strongly encouraged to contact their local EUPeace coordinator and international office early.

Apply by 07 December 2026

Applications can be submitted until 07 December 2026, 17:00 CET. All information on topics, eligibility and the application process is available on the call page.
